Asian Coalition Against Tobacco

The Asian Coalition Against Tobacco (ACAT) was established in October of 2000 with funding from the Minnesota Department of Health. ACAT is organized and operated by six Southeast Asian agencies which includes Association for the Advancement of Hmong Women in Minnesota, Cambodia American Family Alliance, Lao Assistance Center, Lao Family of Minnesota, Lao Parent-Teacher Association, and Southeast Asian Community Council.

The goals of this collaboration is to create activities that attract Southeast Asian youth to build networks with other local and national efforts in addressing, educating and creating awareness in the community about tobacco usage among Southeast Asian youth. Through these initiatives youth create leadership advocacy groups to deal with cultural, social, and political tobacco usage with intra-groups and inter-groups.
